In ihrer künstlerischen Praxis entwickelt Iris I. Leonhardt u.a. abstrakt figürliche Skulpturen aus dem Material Ton. Ausgehend von u.a. Ovids Metamorphosen werden Transformation und Instabilität als Denkmodelle für gegenwärtige Umbrüche genutzt. Die antiken Motive dienen als theoretischer Resonanzraum für Fragen nach Verantwortung, Empathie und nachhaltigem Handeln. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Mainz und in einem zweiten Studio in Westhofen, Deutschland. 

My artistic practice involves, among other things, creating abstract figurative sculptures from clay. Drawing on sources such as Ovid's *Metamorphoses*, I use transformation and instability as conceptual frameworks for contemporary upheavals. These ancient motifs serve as a theoretical space for exploring questions of responsibility, empathy, and sustainable action. The Studio is located in Mainz and a second studio in Westhofen, Germany.
